My Journey on a New Career

After many years as an employee one year ago today I made the decision that eventually I would become self-employed and start my own company. For nearly 20 years I have worked in a London based marketing agency.  I hate the commute the daily slog from the idyllic outskirts of rural Oxford in London Paddington and the across London, a Journey that took me about 4 hours a day.  I finally made the decision to invest in myself.

For nearly 20 years I have worked in a London based marketing agency.  I hate the commute the daily slog from the idyllic outskirts of rural Oxford in London Paddington and the across London, a Journey that took me about 4 hours a day.  I finally made the decision to invest in myself.

I wanted to stay in marketing, so I took the decision to form my own London SEO company, but with a difference, we would not be located in London.  It was a selfish decision on my part as I just wanted to avoid the commute.

At the time I only had a very sketchy idea of how to undertaken search engine optimisation although I did understand what a big impact it could have on clients business activities.  I set about finding an existing company to mentor me, and after approaching some existing SEO Agencies, I eventually agreed to a training and mentoring deal with and SEO company based in Oxford.

I continued my job in London for another year while spending every spare hour learning the core aspect of SEO. As I already had experience in marketing, this helped me greatly.  I built a number of my websites and experimented using the skills I was learning and watch my own site gradulalyclimb up the rankings.  I think the journey to learn SEO is an ongoing one as the like of Google are always changing things, but I now feel as well equipped as any professional SEO.

Today is a big day as I am cutting my corporate ties and resigning my London Job. I have already secured my first 4 clients.  I will blog more in the next few days
